For those of you who know me, hell has officially frozen over and I am now blogging. For those who don't know me yet, (hi, I'm Leanne) welcome :) I am actually very excited to use this platform as a communication tool, to share the ongoing antics that occur while working on Elroy, and other various projects that may come up. I have recently made a big leap - and have helped to create a small sewing cooperative in Indonesia. Social responsibility is the backbone of the Elroy brand. We have come together - a small group of artisans, who have all the skills necessary to succeed, yet no design or marketing capabilities. And me, a designer looking to make beautiful, high quality, forward-driven clothing who has the ability to market and sell. Other than the language barrier (!!) this continues to be a fantastic match. I visit Indonesia twice a year, for a few months, and do what needs to be done: sourcing, drafting, sampling, pre-production, quality control...and I do this all on my own. Never one to say no to a challenge, or to give up when things get a little rough, things can get a bit crazy, but somehow it all seems to make sense. Add the perk of being able to travel to a beautiful country often - it's an opportunity that I feel the need to persue. So follow along on this journey - and feel free to leave comments or feedback. I plan on asking for opinions, and you will be right here with me for the important decision making...colours, prints, styles...I want to hear about what you want to see Elroy do next!
